چکیده
The field experiment was conducted for two consecutive years during 2018-19 and 2019-20 at three different locations of the farmers’ in Chandel district NEH Region, Manipur to compare maize-based cropping systems. From data, it observed that highest maize yield recorded from sole crop 50.65 q/ha 51.20 respectively, due its higher plant population. equivalent 52.16 54.90 be + groundnut intercropping system as compared rice bean system. Though, with other crops reduced grain but increased than maize. gross return Rs. 152510/ha Rs.160700/ha net profit 104141/ha 110550/ha respectively. benefit cost ratio also found experimentations. this result, can concluded will more beneficial a viable practiced achieve goal sustainable productivity profitability attaining doubling income.

Increasing Cropping System Diversity Balances Productivity, Profitability and Environmental Health
Balancing productivity, profitability, and environmental health is a key challenge for agricultural sustainability. Most crop production systems in the United States are characterized by low species and management diversity, high use of fossil energy and agrichemicals, and large negative impacts on the environment. We hypothesized that cropping system diversification would promote ecosystem ser...
متن کاملConservation Agriculture Practices in Rainfed Uplands of India Improve Maize-Based System Productivity and Profitability
Traditional agriculture in rainfed uplands of India has been experiencing low agricultural productivity as the lands suffer from poor soil fertility, susceptibility to water erosion and other external pressures of development and climate change. A shift toward more sustainable cropping systems such as conservation agriculture production systems (CAPSs) may help in maintaining soil quality as we...

The effect of tillage, crop establishment and weed management was studied on theperformance of wheat grown after soybean at New Delhi, India during 2010-11 to 2011-12.Sixteen treatment combinations involved 2 tillage, viz. conventional tillage (CT) and zero tillage(ZT), two crop establishment practices, viz. raised-bed and flat-bed and four weed management, viz. isoproturon + hand weeding, mesos...
متن کاملDesigning a new cropping system for high productivity and sustainable water usage under climate change
The food supply is being increasingly challenged by climate change and water scarcity. However, incremental changes in traditional cropping systems have achieved only limited success in meeting these multiple challenges. In this study, we applied a systematic approach, using model simulation and data from two groups of field studies conducted in the North China Plain, to develop a new cropping ...
متن کاملCrop and varietal diversification of rainfed rice based cropping systems for higher productivity and profitability in Eastern India
Rice-rice system and rice fallows are no longer productive in Southeast Asia. Crop and varietal diversification of the rice based cropping systems may improve the productivity and profitability of the systems. Diversification is also a viable option to mitigate the risk of climate change. In Eastern India, farmers cultivate rice during rainy season (June-September) and land leftovers fallow aft...
